AUTHENTICITY IN THE FOOD VALUE CHAIN
Today, the food market faces great demands from customers and participants in the food value chain. The demands are aimed at improving the quality and transparency of both the products and the companies involved. Customers today do not trust the products and companies involved and on the other hand they want to know much more or have higher demands for information. Especially information about company authenticity is missing, product authenticity is poor or minimal.
The aim of the network is to develop innovative products and processes that show the authenticity of food products and participating companies (producers, processors, sellers) in an unforgeable and trustworthy way. This is done on the basis of sustainability and digitalization.
VISION OF THE NETWORK
The vision of the network is a food value chain in which participants and end customers trust both the product information and the claims of the participating companies.
Through verifiably authentic information, consumers (restaurants, end customers) as well as participants in the value chain (from producers to meat and grocery retailers) should be enabled to obtain verified and forgery-proofed information on products (provenance, logistics, ingredients, etc.) and on the companies involved. Food retailers and consumers can thus select products and producers in a targeted manner and trust the decision criteria relevant to them (e.g., on ethical products or social responsibility of the companies involved) and also market these for their own business.
